Ecological Redevelopment Kent County Council
25th April 2022
PJC Consultancy assisted Kent county council with all ecology matters associated with the re-development of a former primary school site in Ashford, Kent.
The proposals include the construction of up to 205 residential dwellings and up to 64 bedroom extra care housing, together with landscaped areas of open space.
PJC Consultancy were commissioned during the preliminary design stage to assess the baseline habitats of the site (extended phase 1 habitat survey) and undertake protected species surveys (phase 2 surveys) where necessary. As a result, a suite of ecological phase 2 surveys, including bat emergence/re-entry surveys, bat activity surveys and reptile presence/likely absence surveys were undertaken.
The project is now well on its way to receiving full planning permission with all ecological matters addressed and sufficiently mitigated by PJC’s team of ecologists.
