A leading arboricultural & ecological consultancy providing specialist advice throughout the South-East of England
At PJC, our mission is simple. We want to provide our clients with outstanding solutions to meet their environmental planning and management needs.
We aim to deliver these solutions through the three key principles that are the foundations of PJC; building relationships with our clients, creating a team of highly-qualified and experienced consultants and providing a guaranteed quality service.
Meeting your needs and exceeding expectations is incredibly important to us. At PJC, we will take the time to understand your project and determine how we can help you, to ensure we provide the best possible solution to meet your needs. We are a company that offers a quality, but affordable service. We do this by using the latest technologies and up to date survey techniques and by having a fantastic team passionate about their specialism.
PJC are small enough to provide a personal service, but large enough to deal with your project needs and requirements. Engage with PJC and we will support you with one of our fully qualified and experienced consultants who will be with you for the duration of your project. This may even be one of our company Directors! We don’t make false promises and we don’t hide behind misleading marketing campaigns. Our business is based on our exceptional rate of client retention and repeat business. Avoid the nationwide “do it quick, do it cheap” consultancies and work with PJC who will “do it once, and do it right”!
Our Team
PJC’s arboricultural, ecological and landscape consultants are fully qualified and highly experienced in their respective disciplines. Our team has a collective 80 years industry experience, are academically qualified, and are members of The Arboricultural Association, The Chartered Institute of Chartered Foresters and The Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management. We are also a Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management Registered Practice. We pride ourselves on our personable approach to consultancy. We won’t push you from person to person, your project will be led and managed by one of our team members, from start to finish, providing you consistency and promoting professional relationships.
Our Business Structure
Ensuring our employees feel pride in their work and are cared for is one of our top priorities here at PJC. That’s why in 2020 we started the process of transitioning into business that is wholly employee owned and managed. This means our employees are involved in decision-making, allowing them to bring fresh ideas to the table and creating a sense of investment and pride in their work. We are ever-evolving, and our incredible dedicated employees continue to help grow the company.
Our planet
As environmental consultants, our natural world is important to us. We understand the stresses and threats that face our natural world and are committed to making a change to reduce our environmental impacts. Our goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2027, and we want to do this by removing the carbon at source, not by simply offsetting. We have already implemented change and taken the steps below towards our goal. We will continue to invest in renewable energy and the use of sustainable working practices, and our next project will be investment into solar technologies to supply our team with renewable energy.
- Since 2020, we have reduced our fleet of diesel vehicles by 80%, and replaced them with fully electric vehicles. This change alone equates to a reduction of approximately 30 tons of CO2 annually. We will continue to reduce our fleet of diesels as public electric vehicle charging infrastructure improves across the south-east.
- We have invested in rugged tablets, specialist software and online data sharing to limit our use of paper and printing.
- We promote commuting by bike, and are part of the cycle to work scheme to provide our employees with a carbon neutral method of transport. Not only is this good for the employees health and wellbeing, it also helps PJC further reduce our carbon footprint. Since the start of 2023, our employees that cycle to work has resulted in a reduction of approximately 1.5 tons of CO2!
