The Annual Highways Tree Survey
Challenge Has Commenced
21st September 2023 - Posted in: Arboricultural
PJC arboriculturists have been busy undertaking a hazardous tree survey along the busy M20 and M2 motorways. Tagged and marked trees have safety critical defects that require remedial works to maintain safety standards along the highway.
All parts of the trees need to be visually inspected, including the base/stem of the tree and the upper parts of the crown. We don’t use camera’s mounted on cars, or high tech drones. The routes are inspected on foot by our arboriculturists, and I can assure you its not an easy task! Our arboricultural team like a challenge and it gets us out of the office looking at trees, which is what we love!
The PJC arboricultural team have extensive knowledge and experience in holistic arboricultural management. We work with a range of clients from homeowners and private estates owners to large infrastructure managers, and provide tree surveys covering location, condition, safety, and maintenance programmes for their tree stock.
We can devise bespoke survey efforts and schedules that supports our clients’ needs, and provide solutions to the management of their trees and woodlands in a safe, efficient, and financially sound way. By implementing a structured and risk based approach to tree and woodland management, long-term management costs are frequently reduced. Tree works budgets can be established and a robust tree survey regime created. Infrequent and reactive tree surveys commonly result in expensive rounds of remedial tree works, so this approach is best avoided.
