A warm thank you to the organisers of the Landscape – Industry trade show 2017 for putting together another spectacular show.
PJC Consultancy visited the show on its opening day to experience the plentiful and exuberant trade stands, taking the opportunity to talk with trade professions, passionate about their varying products and ranging services, all which often help us designers through the day to day in order to realise a concluded landscape scheme.
The day could have been occupied by the vast collection of trade stands this year alone, but of course we just had to find time also to sit and enjoy the wealth of amazing seminar sessions offered.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time listening to Kate Gould of Kate Gould Gardens who shared some of her professional wisdom and entertaining stories with us during her ‘Successful Small Spaces’ seminar. She delivered a very informative, helpful and witty guidance to the challenges and opportunities of designing within small spaces, often 4 stories high on roof terraces with literally no access except by crane from London’s busy streets. Very interesting to hear her tales and experiences.
The opportunity to listen to Annika Zetterman, now based in Sweden as a garden designer, talking about New Nordic Gardens was also an opportunity too good to pass up on. We sat mesmerised as she shared her knowledge, experience and images of creating gardens within the often harsh, unforgiving but breathtakingly beautiful landscapes of Scandinavia. Utilising the extremes of long dark winters and prolonged summer days. Using the soft diffused light of the north to her advantage within rugged landscapes to form beautiful gardens, all the while adhering to ‘tried and tested’ Scandi design principles. Beautiful.
A great many thanks to the Landscape Show 2017. We will be back next year.
