BS: 5837:2005 Trees in Relation to Construction
Following the introduction of revised planning application procedures in the form of 1APP, Local Planning Authorities, (LPA's) now require an arboriculturalist to assess and provide input where trees are present or adjacent to a site. PJC specialises in tree surveys conforming to the requirements of BS5837:2005, and the production of accompanying documents including :
- Tree constraints plans, showing root protection areas and crown spreads plotted using AutoCad.
- Tree protection plans, showing tree protection and ground protection measures.
- Arboricultural Implication Assessments, (AIA's)
- Arboricultural Method Statements, (AMS'S) usually required to discharge planning conditions.
- Site monitoring and inspection, to ensure tree protection measures remain in place to comply with LPA conditions.
In addition, PJC can offer advice on specialist construction methods such as:
- Porous surfacing within root protection areas
- Specialist construction methods for foundations within root protection areas
- Installation of services close to tree root systems using Airspade technology
We also offer a pre purchase feasibility study to determine if a site is suitable for development where trees are present. PJC has worked on projects from large-scale business parks to small domestic projects, proving us with a wealth of practical experience and an understanding of both construction methods and the specific requirements of Local Planning Authorities. Our commitment to Continued Professional Development means that we can continue to provide innovative solutions to clients no matter what size or scale the project.
